  • What not to do with it! Washing, grooming….
  • How to improve it? Histograms, breeding, paddocks….
  • What do we do with it? Tumbling, picking, carding, gilling, balancing yarn, spinning, plying, finishing, felt; what are batts, rovings, slivers, and fluff?
  • What to do with it? Yarns, felt, garments, selling on…

And more…….an informal workshop to improve your knowledge of fibre and what to do with it!

Come and meet other alpaca owners (though all welcome), network, enjoy a light lunch, friendly banter & hopefully some laughs too while

getting to grips with fibre!

Hands on demos, guided tour of our bespoke Mill and see how each of the processes works your fibre and creates wonderful yarn and felt too.

Sorry,  but please be aware that the cost is non-refundable and places will only be confirmed once payment has been recieved.

Waiting List – Please be aware that we work strictly from our waiting list, regardless of when your fibre arrives here.

Priority is given to Express Orders (for which a premium is charged) which are slotted into the next slot after the client whose fibre we are currently processing.
If you choose to deliver your yarn before we call it in then it will be stored until your name reaches the top of the waiting list.
Please be patient – if you have visited then you will know it takes some considerable time to process good yarns…..and if you have not yet visited please do so!

Skirting – With immediate effect all cria fleeces must be fully skirted

Due to the high volume of VM in cria fleece we need to card the fleeces at least twice, (usually three or four times) which naturally incurs additional time & cost to you.
Therefore we will be applying an additional charge to processing cria fleeces or a batch which includes cria fleeces (if they have not been either cria shorn or adequately skirted.)

Please pack cria fleeces which are to be mixed with a batch seperately!
This additional cost will be levied only on cria fleeces which have not been appropriately & adequately skirted.
The additional cost per cria fleece or batch will be £19.50+ VAT per kilo of fleece.
Please take the time and skirt thoroughly – your finished yarn will be far better.
